The Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County is dedicated to providing love, hope, respect and a new beginning for the homeless. They strive to end homelessness one person at a time. Union Gospel Mission (UGM) offers "long-term" accommodations for homeless mothers with children, homeless men with children, homeless families, and single adults. These homeless groups/singles must agree to follow the plans that UGM sets in place for helping them OUT of homelessness and back into self-sufficiency. Christian counseling, chapel services, ALPHA classes, educational help, job skills training, mentors, food, clothing, and more are offered through UGM.
ALLIANCE United Methodist Church collects men's clothing, shoes, belts, toiletries, etc for UGM. Most items that are donated to UGM are for women, so Alliance has made it a OUR mission to fulfill the needs of men. Also, members of AUMC have volunteered to serve food in the UGM cafeteria, tutor children, make sandwiches to pass out to those homeless who cannot come into the cafeteria and more. Please go to the website and look at the volunteer possibilities: https://www.ugm-tc.org/ Also, read the powerful, life changing stories...and see how you can help change lives.
